If you are looking for casino sister sites, or want to know who is really behind a gambling brand, you are in the right place. Hitta.casino maps the Swedish gambling market: which group owns which brand, which licence holder each site operates under, and what that means for you when it comes to welcome bonuses, gambling limits and Spelpaus. We publish no toplists and give no ratings to individual casinos. Our job is to make the ownership structure easy to understand.
The background is simple. One and the same company can be behind several Swedish casinos with completely different names, colours and marketing. On the surface you rarely notice it, but ownership affects more than you might think: who is responsible for your account, how the bonus rule applies and how the company has fared under the supervision of Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gambling Authority.
The easiest way to understand the market is to think in three levels. At the top is the group, for example a listed gambling company or a privately owned business. Below the group are one or more licence holders, meaning the legal entities that have been granted a licence by Spelinspektionen. At the bottom are the brands – the sites you actually visit.
It is the licence holder that counts as the gambling operator in the legal sense. It is the licence holder that must comply with Spellagen (the Gambling Act), that can receive a warning or a financial penalty, and that is covered by the bonus rule. The group's name is rarely visible on the casino itself, but the licence holder's name must be shown, usually at the very bottom of the page.
FDJ United, previously known as Kindred, shows how this can work. Until 2025 the group's Swedish sites operated under one single licence holder, Spooniker Ltd. Between September 2025 and January 2026, Otto Casino, Unibet, Maria Casino and Storspelare were each moved to a company of their own, and players had to register again at every switch.
According to trade media, a Swedish gambling licence cannot be transferred between two companies, not even within the same group. That is why each new company needed a licence of its own. For you as a player, such reorganisations mean that your account, the terms and sometimes the bonus options change, even though the site looks exactly the same.
At launch, Hitta.casino covers five groups and one independent operator. The table shows the owners and the brands with a Swedish licence that we have been able to confirm. The information was checked in October 2026.
| Group | Owner | Brands with a Swedish licence |
|---|---|---|
| LeoVegas Group | MGM Resorts International since 2022 | LeoVegas, GoGoCasino, Expekt, BetMGM |
| FDJ United (formerly Kindred) | France's FDJ United, which bought Kindred in 2024 | Unibet, Maria Casino, Otto Casino, Storspelare |
| evoke (formerly 888 Holdings) | Listed in London; a takeover by Bally's Intralot is awaiting approval | Mr Green, 888casino, 888sport, 888poker, 888.se |
| Betsson AB | Listed on Nasdaq Stockholm | Betsson, NordicBet, Betsafe, Jalla Casino |
| ComeOn Group | Cherry AB | ComeOn, Snabbare, Hajper, Lyllo Casino, Casinostugan, Reviant |
| Casumo | Privately owned and independent | Casumo |
Two sister sites can look completely different and still have the same owner, the same management and the same approach to responsible gambling. The reverse is also true: sites in the same group can have different licence holders, different terms and different bonuses. What is actually shared varies, so you cannot assume that two sister sites work the same way.
That is why we always look at three things when we describe a group: which licence holder each brand has, what that means for the welcome bonus, and which decisions Spelinspektionen has taken about the companies. That is where the differences between sister sites show most clearly.
Chapter 14, Section 9 of the Gambling Act limits bonuses to the first occasion on which a player plays any of the licence holder's games. So it is the licence holder that counts – neither the brand nor the group.
In practice, sites under the same licence holder share one welcome bonus. According to a decision by Spelinspektionen, 888casino, 888sport, 888poker and 888.se are run by the same company, 888 Sweden Limited, so a single welcome bonus should apply to them together. In groups where each brand has its own licence holder, such as Betsson AB, LeoVegas Group, ComeOn Group and now FDJ United, each site can offer its own welcome bonus.
We have not found any specific guidance from Spelinspektionen on multiple brands, so always check the terms at the individual casino. How the rule has been interpreted and what counts as a bonus is covered in our guide to the bonus rules in Sweden.
When Spelinspektionen reviews a gambling operator, it is the licence holder that receives the decision. During 2025 and 2026 the authority has, among other things, issued warnings and financial penalties to licence holders within Betsson AB, FDJ United and ComeOn Group, as well as to Casumo's licence holder Oddit Limited. A 2025 decision against the LeoVegas licence holder Roar Vegas Ltd, on the other hand, was overturned by the administrative court.
A decision against one licence holder therefore does not automatically apply to sister sites with other licence holders, but it does say something about how the group works. On the page for each group we report the decisions with dates and amounts where the sources are clear.
If you exclude yourself through Spelpaus.se, the national self-exclusion register, the exclusion applies at every gambling company with a Swedish licence, regardless of group and licence holder. You can choose 10 days, one, three or six months, or until further notice, and the exclusion cannot be cancelled early. How to register and what the exclusion covers is explained in our guide to Spelpaus and self-exclusion.
In addition to Spelpaus, every gambling company must let you exclude yourself from that particular company, for a set period or until further notice. Anyone running an online casino must also be able to block you immediately for 24 hours.
Deposit limits work differently. You set them with each gambling company separately, per day, week and month. If you have accounts on several sister sites with different licence holders, you therefore need to set limits at each one.
The site is built so that you can quickly go from a brand you recognise to the full picture of owners and licences. It has three main sections:
If you want to check a detail yourself, it is easy. Find the licence holder's name at the bottom of the casino's website and compare it with the Spelinspektionen licence register, which lists every company with a valid Swedish licence together with its websites.
Whatever the group, the same basic rules apply to every gambling company licensed by Spelinspektionen. They are worth knowing when you compare sister sites, because they set the limits for what a casino may and may not do.
The information on owners, licence holders and sanctions is based on decisions by Spelinspektionen, the companies' own press releases, the information in the casinos' footers and – where we say so – trade media. Where we have not been able to confirm a detail, such as a licence number, we leave it out. Instead, we refer you to the licence register.
Ownership changes more often than many people think. evoke is awaiting a takeover that has not yet been completed, and according to trade media Betsson's Swedish casino business was moved to a new licence holder at the end of September 2026. We update the pages when things like this happen and state when the information was last checked.
We have not created accounts, deposited money or requested withdrawals at the casinos. Everything we write about terms and processes is based on what the gambling companies themselves state and on public decisions.
Gambling for money is entertainment that costs money, never a way to earn money or solve financial problems. Decide in advance how much time and money you want to spend, and use the limits that every Swedish gambling company must offer.
If gambling starts to take over, you can exclude yourself from all licensed gambling companies via Spelpaus.se. Stödlinjen, the national gambling helpline, gives advice on weekdays, both by phone on 020-819 100 and in the chat at stodlinjen.se.
Sister sites are casinos owned by the same group but marketed under different names. They can share an owner and management yet still be run by different licence holders with their own terms.
It depends on the licence holder, not the group. The bonus rule in the Swedish Gambling Act applies per licence holder, so sites under the same licence holder share one welcome bonus, while sister sites with their own licence holders can each offer one. Always check the casino's terms.
Yes. A self-exclusion through Spelpaus.se applies at every gambling company with a Swedish licence, whatever group or licence holder the site belongs to.
The licence holder's name must be shown on the casino's website, usually at the very bottom of the page. You can then compare it with the licence register of Spelinspektionen, which lists every company holding a valid Swedish licence.
No. We publish no ratings or toplists. The site describes owners, licence holders and rules so that you can compare for yourself.
