LeoVegas Group

If you are looking for a LeoVegas Group casino, there are currently four names with a Swedish licence: LeoVegas, GoGoCasino, Expekt and BetMGM. The group has been owned by the American company MGM Resorts International since 2022, and each Swedish brand is run by its own licensed company. Below you can see which company is behind which site and what this split means for bonuses, accounts and gambling limits.
The information comes from decisions by Spelinspektionen (the Swedish Gambling Authority), the companies’ own terms and the group’s press releases. Licences and ownership can change, so always check the current status before you register.
The group at a glance
LeoVegas Group is now a subsidiary of a listed American group, but its head office remains in Stockholm.
| Detail | LeoVegas Group |
|---|---|
| Legal name | LeoVegas AB (parent company), according to the group’s press releases |
| Owner | MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), since 2022 |
| Head office | Stockholm, with an operating unit in Malta |
| Stock market listing | Not listed – delisted from Nasdaq Stockholm after MGM’s acquisition in 2022 |
| Brands with a Swedish licence | 4 |
According to a press release from April 2026, the group runs nine brands in ten jurisdictions. Only four of them have a confirmed Swedish licence, and only those are covered here.
Which LeoVegas Group casinos have a Swedish licence?
None of the four sites shares a licence with any other. Each brand has its own company registered as licence holder with Spelinspektionen.
| Brand | Licence holder | Licence number | Licence valid until | Shares licence with |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LeoVegas | Roar Vegas Ltd | 23Si808 | 27 November 2028 | None |
| GoGoCasino | Gazelle Co. Limited | See Spelinspektionen’s licence register | 31 October 2028 (online gaming) | None |
| Expekt | LeoEx Ltd | 23Si807 | 4 December 2028 | None |
| BetMGM | MGMNordic Ltd | 24Si1633 | 15 October 2029 | None |
So LeoVegas’s licence is not held by LeoVegas Gaming plc, which was the licensed company during the first years of Swedish licensing, but by Roar Vegas Ltd. The trade publication iGaming Business describes Expekt mainly as a sports betting brand. BetMGM launched in Sweden in October 2024 and received its licence on 16 October that year.
GoGoCasino has been on the Swedish market since 2019. In April 2026 the group also received a betting licence linked to GoGoCasino, but it has not been confirmed which company holds that licence.
Royal Panda and Pinatacasino are sometimes mentioned as sisters of LeoVegas. We have found no evidence that they hold a Swedish licence today, so they are not counted here.
The licences also differ in scope. Roar Vegas Ltd and MGMNordic Ltd are licensed for both commercial online gaming and betting, while GoGoCasino’s licence with Gazelle Co. Limited mainly covers online gaming. Which forms of gambling a site may offer is therefore governed by the licensed company, not by the group.
Changes of ownership
- September 2022: MGM Resorts completes its offer for LeoVegas AB. The offer was 61 kronor per share, equivalent to about 604 million dollars, and 96 per cent of the shares were tendered. The company was then delisted from Nasdaq Stockholm.
- October 2024: BetMGM becomes the group’s fourth brand in Sweden.
- 2024: MGM buys Tipico’s sports betting technology Tiger, which is later launched on GoGoCasino.
- 15 April 2026: The Tiger sportsbook goes live on GoGoCasino together with the new Swedish licence.
A change of owner does not in itself change which company holds a Swedish licence. It is the licence holder, not the owner, that determines how bonus rules and accounts work, and you will find that information in Spelinspektionen’s register.
Sanctions from Spelinspektionen
On 24 March 2025, Spelinspektionen issued Roar Vegas Ltd a remark and a penalty fee of 8,000,000 kronor. The decision concerned the duty of care, meaning the operator’s obligation to follow up and protect players who show signs of problem gambling.
The company appealed, and the Administrative Court overturned the decision (case 3061-25). The ruling was reported in June 2026, so the decision no longer stands. The full decision can be read at Spelinspektionen, which publishes its supervisory decisions.
What it means for you as a player
Because the four sites have different licence holders, they do not affect one another under the bonus rule in Spellagen, the Gambling Act, Chapter 14, Section 9. The law says a licence holder may only offer a bonus the first time you play any of that licence holder’s games. Having already played at LeoVegas therefore does not in itself prevent a welcome bonus at BetMGM or Expekt, since they are run by other companies. We have not, however, found any specific guidance from Spelinspektionen on multiple brands within the same group.
Accounts and limits
Each licensed company keeps its own customer register. You therefore register separately on each site and identify yourself with an electronic ID, in practice usually BankID. With each company you also set your own deposit limit per day, week and month. Lowered limits apply immediately; raised limits only after 72 hours.
If you want to stop gambling altogether, Spelpaus, the national self-exclusion register, works for all four at once, because an exclusion covers every operator with a Swedish licence. The exclusion can last 10 days, 1, 3 or 6 months, or until further notice. Stödlinjen, the helpline, can be reached on 020-819 100 if you want to talk to someone. In addition, credit cards cannot be used for deposits since the credit ban was tightened on 1 May 2026.
According to LeoVegas’s own website, it offers deposit limits, loss limits and time limits, a self-test via LeoSafePlay, the option to exclude yourself from LeoVegas, and links to Spelpaus and Stödlinjen. All online casinos with a Swedish licence must also be able to exclude you immediately for 24 hours. You will need to check which tools the other three sites offer on each site.
Check the licence yourself
If you want to know exactly which LeoVegas Group casino you are playing at and which company is behind it, do this:
- Scroll to the footer and note the name of the licence holder.
- Search for the company name in Spelinspektionen’s licence register.
- Compare the name with the table above to see which sites share the same company.
- Check how long the licence is valid, especially if the site has recently changed its terms or asked you to register again.
How to compare the sites
Sister sites in the same group share an owner but not necessarily their game selection, terms or customer service. So compare the terms site by site, and read how sister sites work in practice before assuming everything is the same.
Sister sites and more gambling groups
If you want to see LeoVegas from the brand’s perspective, focusing on how the sites differ, you will find it among the LeoVegas sister sites.

Frequently asked questions
Which casinos does LeoVegas Group own in Sweden?
LeoVegas Group has four brands with a Swedish licence: LeoVegas, GoGoCasino, Expekt and BetMGM. Each brand is run by its own licensed company. We have not been able to confirm Royal Panda and Pinatacasino as active Swedish brands.
Who owns LeoVegas?
Since 2022, LeoVegas Group has been a subsidiary of the American company MGM Resorts International. After the acquisition, LeoVegas was delisted from Nasdaq Stockholm. Its head office is in Stockholm.
Can I get a welcome bonus at both LeoVegas and BetMGM?
LeoVegas is run by Roar Vegas Ltd and BetMGM by MGMNordic Ltd. The bonus rule in Spellagen applies per licence holder, so a bonus with one company does not in itself prevent an offer with the other. Always check the current terms on each site.
Did LeoVegas receive a penalty fee in 2025?
Spelinspektionen issued Roar Vegas Ltd a remark and a penalty fee of 8,000,000 kronor in March 2025 over shortcomings in its duty of care. The Administrative Court later overturned the decision, so it no longer stands.
Does Spelpaus apply to all LeoVegas sites?
Yes. An exclusion via Spelpaus applies to every operator with a Swedish licence and therefore to all four sites in the group. Your own deposit limit, however, is set separately with each company.
