Mr Green and 888 Poker share network in Sweden

British gambling group Evoke, owner of Mr Green, 888 and William Hill, has confirmed that the Mr Green Poker product already runs on 888’s technology platform in several markets. According to poker industry media, this has been the case in Sweden and Denmark since at least 2024, with William Hill now tipped as the next brand to join.
If you play at Mr Green or 888 Poker in Sweden, nothing changes in your account overnight. But the news reveals a lot about how the Evoke group is structured behind the scenes – and it arrives just as the parent company itself awaits being taken over.
What has changed
Mr Green Poker has run on the 888 network in Denmark and Sweden since at least 2024, and 888 says William Hill is on the roadmap. That means the poker side of Mr Green technically shares infrastructure with 888 Poker, even though the brands are marketed separately to Swedish players.
The background is a long chain of ownership changes. In January 2019, the group completed the acquisition of Mr Green & Co AB for around £242m, enhancing what was then William Hill’s European footprint. On 1 July 2022, 888 completed its own acquisition of William Hill, becoming a global leader in betting and gaming. The company later renamed itself Evoke plc, and today owns brands including 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, Mr Green and William Hill.
At the same time, a bigger ownership shift is under way at group level. Bally’s Intralot has agreed to acquire Evoke in an all-share deal valuing the operator at about £243 million, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027. Evoke’s shareholders voted in favour of the deal in August, clearing an important hurdle towards completion.
What it means for you
Mr Green and 888 Poker are formally separate in the Swedish market. Mr Green has belonged to Evoke plc since 2019, but the casino still operates under a Swedish gambling licence and is supervised by Spelinspektionen. 888 Poker, in turn, is run by the separate company 888 Sweden Limited, which holds its own Swedish licence for commercial online gambling. In practice, you can hold accounts at both, and each licence holder manages its own first-deposit bonus independently – shared technology behind the scenes doesn’t change that rule.
Whichever brand within the group you use, the same Swedish protection rules apply. Spelpaus.se excludes you from all licensed gambling in Sweden, not just one brand, and you can read more about how sister sites within a group such as Evoke work on our network page. Help is available via Stödlinjen.se for anyone who wants to talk about their gambling.
Regarding the planned takeover by Bally’s Intralot, no planned changes for the companies’ Swedish customers or brands have been presented so far. It is therefore too early to say whether a completed deal will affect Mr Green’s or 888 Poker’s Swedish licences long-term.
The bigger picture
Mr Green’s story is the story of how Swedish gambling brands often end up inside international groups. The company was founded in Sweden but was bought by William Hill, which was in turn bought by 888 – now Evoke. The poker product now sharing a platform with 888 is a small, technical step in a much bigger consolidation story.
That story mirrors what has already happened across the rest of the Swedish gambling industry, where groups such as Betsson, LeoVegas, Kindred/FDJ United and Casumo have changed hands or merged in recent years. Evoke itself now awaiting a takeover shows that the trend towards fewer, larger gambling groups continues – something that could eventually affect which sister sites belong together in Sweden.
